Standard Chartered Names New India CFO

The new CFO is returning to the bank where he has already worked for 17 years before taking up roles at organisations including Reuters and Coca-Cola.
Standard Chartered Bank, India, has appointed Gaurav Maheshwari as its new chief financial officer, taking over from Subhradeep Mohanty, who was elevated to the post of CFO, Africa & Middle East region.
Maheshwari brings with him more than 23 years of experience gained mainly across the financial and corporate sector. This appointment is his second stint at the bank, having earlier worked there for 17 years in various roles in the finance team. Over his career, he has also worked with reputed companies like Reuters, India and Coca-Cola, India.
In this role, Maheshwari will report to Jean Fernandes, regional CFO, ASEAN and South Asia and Zarin Daruwala, India, chief executive, Standard Chartered said in a statement earlier this week.
Gaurav did his Bachelor of Commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and then completed his Chartered Accountancy.
