Standard Chartered Names Ex-Julius Baer Man As Global Head For Investment Advisory

The bank has confirmed a senior appointment in its private banking arm.

Christian Mueller has been appointed global head, investment advisory for the private bank of Standard Chartered, the firm confirmed to this publication.

Based in Singapore, Mueller reports to Alexis Calla, global head, investment strategy, advisory and managed investment, a spokesperson for the bank said. He was previously head of investment advisory in Asia, a role he held between November 2013 and February this year; he earlier worked at UBS, according to his LinkedIn profile.

As previously reported, the UK-listed bank, which earns the bulk of its revenues in regions such as Asia and Africa, has reported a 2014 operating profit of $149 million, a fall of 14 per cent year-on-year, while the overall group also suffered a profit fall.

Standard Chartered has also announced a top-level reshuffle in management that sees Peter Sands, who had been the subject of media speculation over his future for months, step down.
