Standard Chartered's Private Bank Names Head Of Taiwan Market

This publication brings latest news of senior moves in the Asia-Pacific wealth management industry.

Standard Chartered has appointed Vicky Lin as managing director, head of the Taiwan market for private banking.

Based in Hong Kong, Lin will manage the offshore Taiwanese market as part of the broader Greater China and North Asia region. The role is a newly-created position and she reports to Desmond Liu, head of Private Banking, Greater China and North Asia, the firm said in a statement yesterday.

Prior to this appointment, Lin was the executive director for Private Wealth Management for Taiwan and Greater China at Morgan Stanley Asia.

“Greater China is a market of keen interest characterised by its robust wealth creation and strong entrepreneurial profile. Within the region, Taiwan is amongst the top 25 HNW individual population which saw 12 per cent growth between 2013-2014[1], and is one of Asia’s leading wealth generators,” Liu said.

Earlier in September, this publication exclusively reported that Rajesh Malkani, regional head, private banking for Africa, MENAP and South Asia at Standard Chartered, is leaving the bank at the end of the month. (See the full report here.)
