StanChart To Sponsor Entrepreneur Awards Programme
The bank is supporting world-class entrepreneurs, such as in its regular haunts of Asia and Africa, via a sponsorship event to choose outstanding examples of business leadership.
Standard Chartered Bank is sponsoring a contest to find outstanding businessmen and women around the world, including its regular markets of Asia and Africa, highlighting how banks seek to build brand visibility with entrepreneurs who can become future wealth management clients.
The UK-listed bank has announced its support for the annual EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ programme. The two-year sponsorship consists of EY Entrepreneur Of The Year country awards (covering East Africa, Indonesia and India); EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ Asia-Pacific; EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™, as well as the EY Strategic Growth Forum (Africa).
“This sponsorship underscores the importance of supporting entrepreneurs who are key drivers of innovation, job creation and economic vibrancy. At Standard Chartered, mid-sized corporates in particular are at the heart of our strategy of banking the people and companies that drive investment, trade and the creation of wealth across our footprint,” said Andy Bainbridge, global head, commercial clients at Standard Chartered Bank.
The award is presented in more than 145 cities and 60 countries worldwide. Each year, more than 60 country winners gather in Monte Carlo, Monaco, to vie for the title at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ event. As part of this year’s programme, the bank will help assemble a series of panel discussions and sessions.
