StanChart Names Leader For Wholesale Banking In MENA And Pakistan

Standard Chartered has internally appointed Morad Mahlouji as regional head of origination and client coverage for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan region.

Mahlouji will lead the UK and Hong Kong-listed bank’s origination and client coverage group in wholesale banking, the part of the bank that services institutions like family offices and investment managers. He joined Standard Chartered in 2009, and was most recently the global co-head of structuring in financial markets.

He will report directly to Sean Wallace, group head,
OCC and to the head of geographies, wholesale banking. He will also
report to Jonathan Morris, CEO, UAE, in relation to his role as head of OCC,
UAE. 

As part of his role, he will also
assume direct responsibility as the head of origination and client coverage for
the United Arab Emirates, one of Standard Chartered’s top five markets globally, said the bank in a statement. 

David Law, his predecessor, will assume the role of regional head of corporate finance for Africa, based in Johannesburg.
