Savills Investment Management Adds To Singapore Fund Management Team

The group's latest hire has more than 12 years' experience in real estate investment management and fund management.

Savills Investment Management has appointed Volker Wanka as director of fund management in Singapore.

Wanka joins the group with more than 12 years’ experience in real estate investment management and fund management in Europe and Asia. Most recently, he was director of fund management for Savills Investment Management Frankfurt, where he managed two of the firm’s Asian property funds.

Prior to that, he worked in Singapore between 2008 and 2014 as vice president of real estate investments with SEB Asset Management and oversaw the acquisitions and dispositions across commercial, retail, residential and hospitality sectors with volume totalling more than $2.6 billion.

In his new role, Wanka will lead the fund management and transaction activities for Savills Investment Management’s Asia Property Fund 2 and Asia Pacific Fund, in addition to helping grow the firm’s portfolio in Asia by heading up some of its upcoming Asian-themed products.

“Volker’s experience in real estate investment management and fund management in Europe and Asia will be an invaluable asset to the team here in Singapore. His deep knowledge and expertise in the Asian markets will certainly bolster the team’s strategy to achieve continued growth and expansion in Asia,” said Michael Flynn, chief executive, Asia-Pacific, at Savills Investment Management.

This publication is awaiting confirmation as to whether Wanka is taking on a newly-created role or replacing someone else and will update coverage accordingly.
