S64 Appoints Names New South Korea Head
S64, a London-based alternatives fintech and solutions partner to the wealth management industry, makes senior Asian hire after making a number of global appointments recently.
S64 has appointed Shawn Ko as head of South Korea. The hire follows a year of growth across the region and will bolster S64’s footprint in the Asia-Pacific region.
Ko is a financial markets and alternative investment specialist with 20 years' experience focused on South Korea. Prior to S64, he worked for 15 years at Deutsche Bank, leading coverage of South Korean financial institutions. In this capacity, Ko developed a track record of connecting Korean investors and institutions to global private markets investment opportunities and solutions.
Ko, who will be located in Seoul, will spearhead S64’s operations across South Korea, the firm said in a statement. The region is a priority for S64 where the company works with local wealth managers, asset managers and financial institutions, optimising their access to private markets through S64's market product manufacturing capabilities and technology solutions.
“Alongside other recent strategic hires, his appointment further fortifies S64’s position in APAC and underscores the significant demand that we are seeing in South Korea for S64's private markets technology, solutions, and products. He brings to S64 a vast amount of local markets expertise and deep investor connectivity that will be of great benefit to our clients,” Tarun Nagpal, CEO of S64, said.
Ko's appointment represents the latest in a series of hires globally for S64 following the appointment of Matt Stovald as head of Australia and Marcus Glover as chief technology officer. Most recently, the firm hired Andy Gent as global chief operating officer (COO). See more here and here.
