Regtech Firm Expands Into Asia-Pacific

The business of "regtech" is increasingly important, and a firm in this space is pushing into Asia, seeing strong potential in the region.

Eventus Systems, a firm providing regulation technology – aka “regtech” solutions, is to start operation from Singapore to serve the Asia-Pacific region.

Representing the US-headquartered firm is Ariel Almeda, a capital markets professional with more than 27 years of sales and service experience in technology and financial markets as well as more than a decade in the region. Almeda, who held a variety of roles with Trading Technologies from 2001 to 2017, has been based in Singapore since 2007, in charge of technical sales for over 10 years.

He previously served as Director of Technical Services, APAC, responsible for a team in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney. Almeda also held technical account management and customer support roles at the firm's Chicago headquarters, before moving to the APAC region.

The firm helps capital market participants deal with regtech issues; clients include buy-side firms, Tier 1 banks and brokerages. Its flagship offering is the Validus surveillance and risk software platform.
