RBC Wealth Management Increases Technology Interest With New Hire

RBC has created a new role of strategy and technology chief.

RBC Wealth Management has appointed Amit Sahasrabudhe as head of strategy and technology, the newly-created role. Another sign of the investment strategy from the wealth management sector to spend large quantities of money into the burgeoning sector of fintech.

Sahasrabudhe will report directly to chief executive Michael Armstrong, the firm said last week in a statement.

He will be responsible for bringing together the resources of the firm and also for tackling strategic challenges, pursuing new growth opportunities, evolving the firm’s technology to enhance the business and delivering a strengthened client and advisor experience, it said.

“We are building a firm geared for growth,” said Armstrong. “We have incredible momentum and that’s enabling us to attract some of the top talent in the industry and fill key leadership roles with industry veterans."
