RBC Wealth Management Hires From Coutts For Hong Kong Push

Royal Bank of Canada's wealth management business has boosted its North Asia team.

RBC Wealth Management has hired Anita Wong from Coutts as an executive director to focus on the Hong Kong market.

Wong joins from Coutts & Co in Hong Kong, where she was an executive director and private banker. She brings almost 25 years' experience in the financial industry. In her new Hong Kong-based role, she will join the North Asia relationship management team.

“With her high professionalism and proven track record, she will help strengthen our leadership team in Hong Kong,” said Michael Yong-Haron, head of RBC Wealth Management, North Asia.

“As the recent Capgemini/ RBC Wealth Management Asia-Pacific Wealth Report 2015 showed, in the last decade, Asia-Pacific has been driving global wealth growth, with Hong Kong high net worth individuals seeing their wealth grow by over 13 per cent last year. With professionals like Anita joining the team at RBC, we are well positioned to ride on this wave of growth in the city,” he added.

Last month, RBC reported third quarter net income from wealth management stood at C$285 million ($216 million), which is flat compared to a year ago. RBC Wealth Management has more than C$778 billion of assets under administration and over C$503 billion of assets under management.
