RBC Wealth Management Expands In Asia-Pacific
The Canadian business has added a number of senior managers to its business across the Asia-Pacific region.
RBC Wealth Management has made a number of hires in Asia.
Tan Yuh Harn (pictured) joined in January as managing director, head of discretionary portfolio management and ultra-high net worth solutions, Asia. Based in Singapore, he reports to Juan Aronna, head of investment solutions and products, Asia.
Yuh Harn brings more than 25 years’ experience in portfolio management. Prior to joining RBC, he was senior portfolio manager, investment management APAC at Credit Suisse Wealth Management. He previously served in roles at UBS Wealth Management, where he was head, equity mandates and modules for Asia-Pacific, and at BNP Paribas Wealth Management, where he was a portfolio manager.
In February, Alvis Chan joined RBC as executive director, portfolio manager, UHNW solutions, based in Hong Kong and reporting to Yuh Harn. Before RBC, Chan was head of Hong Kong fixed income at UBS Global Wealth Management. Previously, he served in roles in fixed income, firstly at AIA International Hong Kong, before joining ICBC International Asset Management.
In December 2022, the firm named Ajay Saratchandran as head of funds, global manager research – Asia. He is based in Singapore and reports to Tam Chun Him, head of investment content and advisory, Asia. Previoiusly, he was senior portfolio manager and head of sub-advised securities mandates for the global discretionary portfolio management programme at Standard Chartered Bank. Saratchandran has also worked at ANZ, Manulife and Mercer Investment Consulting.
In July last year, Gautam Chadda re-joined RBC as head of portfolio specialists in Singapore, leading Singapore-based portfolio specialists, and reporting to Juan Aronna. Chadda, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, was previously at Standard Chartered Private Bank, where he was a senior investment advisor. Before that, he worked at the Bank of New York and AllianceBernstein.
