RBC Wealth Management Adds Three Directors In London

RBC Wealth Management has bolstered its London-based private client team with the addition of three new directors: Paul Avant, Alex Charalambous and Alex Dean.
Avant will sit within the executive services team, acting as a relationship manager for corporate executives, reporting to Mark Hassett, managing director of RBC Executive Services. Most recently Avant was an associate director on the high net worth onshore team at HSBC Private Bank. Before his nine-year tenure at HSBC, Avant worked for Schroder & Co and Barclays Private Bank.
Charalambous and Dean, meanwhile, are charged with growing RBC Wealth Management’s UK resident and resident non-domiciled client base, reporting to Philip Harris, head of UK private client wealth management.
Charalambous was latterly with JP Morgan Private Bank, most recently running a San Diego-based private banking team which he set up. Dean joins from Barclays Wealth, where he was a private banker for UK resident non-domiciled high and ultra high net worth clients, as well as UK-based Asians.
In other recent hires, towards the end of January RBC Wealth Management added Jeremy Proffitt – latterly of Vestra Wealth in the UK – to its private banking team based in Nassau in the Bahamas. In his new role Proffitt manages relationships with high and ultra high net worth clients in the region. He will also help to develop relationships with intermediaries in the Bahamas and elsewhere to promote the wealth manager’s offshore business in the Caribbean.
RBC Wealth Management has some C$305 billion (around $300 billion) in assets under management and C$525 billion of assets under administration.
