RBC Global Asset Management has appointed Guido Giammattei to its London-based emerging markets equity team as portfolio manager of the RBC Emerging Markets Fund.

The hire of Giammattei, who will focus on the Latin American region, follows the fund’s launch in April this year, after the establishment of RBC GAM's emerging markets equity team in January 2010.

Giammattei previously worked as an equity analyst and latterly a portfolio manager concentrating on Latin American investments at the boutique investment manager Rexiter Capital Management. He has also held roles at State Street and HSBC.

RBC Wealth Management, within which RBC GAM is a unit, currently has about $232 billion of assets under management.
