Both LGT Bank and Bank Sarasin were awarded special commendations of "summa cum laude" in the recently published "Elite Report 2007-The top asset managers in German-speaking countries" carried out in collaboration with Die Welt and Welt am Sonntag.

The authors of the report visited and scrutinised some 268 banks and asset managers in Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

The survey rates LGT the undisputed "Number 1" in Liechtenstein and first in the category "Leading Private Banks" including Switzerland and Germany also. The bank attained the highest grades for client orientation, wealth culture and depth, quality and systematic structure of advice, service and care, product transparency and quality, offered range of specialities and confidential wealth services.

The prize for top Swiss private bank went to Basle-based Bank Sarasin.

"We are delighted to have won top place for the fourth consecutive year. This public recognition by an independent body both of the high quality of our advisory services and our commitment to the customer proves that we keep our promise of providing unrivalled quality and personalised service," said Joachim Strachle, chief executive officer of Bank Sarasin.
