Pershing RIA unit launches

Former FMR sales head Dario takes over business development from Wichman. Pershing's Advisor Solutions (PAS) division has created a "Customer Service Experience" group in a bid to streamline product and service delivery advisory firms. Paul Wichman, formerly head of PAS' relationship-management and business-development initiatives, has taken charge of the new group.

Decoupling sales from maintenance

PAS provides support products and services to independent investment advisories.

"The formation of this new group represents a unique approach to providing RIAs with dedicated, high-quality customer service and underscores our continued commitment to [helping] them grow their practices," says PAS' CEO Mark Tibergien.

To take Wichman's place on the business-development front, PAS has brought in Jim Dario, previously head of relationship management at Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services (formerly Fidelity RIA Group), a rival to PAS.

Dario "has a deep understanding of the RIA customers served by [PAS that] will help us as we continue to build our business and meet the needs of wealth managers, money managers and advisors in transition," says Tibergien.

Pershing is a subsidiary of Bank of New York Mellon. -FWR
