PREVIEW: Major Industry Gathering At WealthMatters Conference On 2 October
In just under a month's time, leading wealth management industry figures will gather in London to debate the big issues at the WealthMatters conference - organised by the publisher of this website.
The start of October will see wealth management industry
figures gather to debate everything from the global economic
outlook to the
benefits and downsides of technology at the
WealthMatters
conference in London.
Held at the America Square Conference Centre, 17 Crosswall –
near the capital’s renowned Tower
of London – the 2 October
conference features a mix of panel debates and breakout sessions.
Sponsors for
the event are Equipos; Finantix; Vermilion and Advanced 365;
Watson
Consultancy, BRT, and MSCI, the market index business.
Previous WealthMatters
conferences – such as an event held in London
April – have drawn large audiences and been an ideal opportunity
for delegates
and panellists to swap ideas, network and catch up on latest
thinking about an
industry facing a range of economic and regulatory challenges.
But it is also
an industry with considerable opportunities in front of it, and
the conference
is designed to provide a platform in which the best ideas on how
to grow can be
showcased.
Speakers include Bill O’Neill, who is head of chief
investment office wealth management research in the UK for UBS
Wealth
Management; Sebastian Dovey, managing partner at Scorpio
Partnership; Kevin Gardiner, managing director and chief

Nagle, head of
multi-asset investing at Threadneedle; Wendy Spires, a consultant
at Bulletin,

regulatory consultancy firm; and Ian
Cornwall, director of regulation at the Association of Private
Client
Investment Managers and Stockbrokers (APCIMS). Managing director
and global head of new product research, Dimitris Melas, is also
speaking at the event.
As if that were not enough, noted wealth management industry
luminaries speaking and moderating some of the sessions include
Bruce
Weatherill, who is chairman of ClearView as well as a
non-executive director of
Weatherill Consulting, JDX, ComPeer and Fidelity Holdings;
William Drake,
co-founder of Lord North Street, the private investment office;
Andrew Fisher,
chief executive of Towry, the wealth management firm; Tim May,

and Simon New, a director at EY (formerly known as Ernst &
Young).
And last but not least, other panels feature David
Stevenson, the columnist who goes under the tag of Adventure
Investor; Simon
