Newedge Announces China Head Of Commodities

International multi-asset brokerage firm Newedge names a new commodities head for China.

Newedge, the international multi-asset brokerage and clearing firm, has bolstered its energy desk with the appointment of a new commodities head in China.

Eric Shi rejoins the firm after a two-year stint as global head of commodities at BOC International, the investment banking arm of Bank of China. Before that, he led Newedge's energy business in China for eight years.

Based in New York, Shi will lead a team of specialists in New York and Hong Kong and will be responsible for expanding the company's commodities business in Asia. He reports to Robert Vujtech, global co-head of energy.

Newedge is the joint venture between Societe Generale and Credit Agricole.
