New Wealth Management Head At Jefferies

Jefferies & Co has hired
Markman (“Mark”) Peters as managing director and head of the
firm’s wealth management group. He joins from SunTrust Bank,
where he was most recently executive vice president and head of
private wealth management, a business that included international
wealth management, personal asset management and SunTrust
Investment Services.
Richard Handler, chairman and chief executive officer of Jefferies, said: “We see a terrific opportunity to grow Jefferies’ wealth management business given the reduction in the number of full service Wall Street firms serving this market.”
Jefferies’ wealth management group provides wealth management and
related services to executives, families and high net worth
individuals via offices in
New York,
Atlanta,
Boston,
Dallas,
Los Angeles and
San Francisco.
Before joining SunTrust, Mr Peters served as managing director
and head of
US private wealth management at Deutsche Bank. Previously, he had
a similar role at Citigroup Private Bank, was a managing director
of private client services at
DLJ Securities and its successor, and also worked for 14 years at
Goldman Sachs within private client services.
