Geneva-based BNP Paribas (Suisse) has reported net profit doubling to SFr264.8 million ($211 million) in the first half, compared with last year’s first half results.

Revenues were 15 per cent higher at SFr521.1 million.

The latest result include net extraordinary income of SFr125 million, compared with SFr15 million a year ago.

BNP Paribas Private Bank (Switzerland) and BNP Paribas Securities Services were absorbed in May.

UEB (Switzerland) will be absorbed this month, and in future the group will operate under a single brand name BNP Paribas Suisse in Switzerland.

The bank and its subsidiaries had about 1,700 staff and client assets of SFr41.2 billion in December 2005.
