Morningstar Names New Manager Research Director For Asia-Pacific

This publication brings latest news of moves and appointments in Asian wealth management.

Morningstar, the fund research firm, has appointed Chris Douglas as director of manager research ratings for Asia-Pacific, reporting to Grant Kenaway, who is global practice leader, manager research, at the company.

Douglas will be responsible for leading the manager research and ratings team and activities in Australia and New Zealand. He replaces Kathryn Young, who is leaving Morningstar, this publication can confirm.

The appointment sees Douglas return to the Asia market after two years working as a senior leader in Morningstar’s North American data business. He previously jointly led its local manager research team. He has extensive knowledge of Australian and New Zealand fund managers and funds, the firm said. Douglas will be based in Auckland, New Zealand, and will visit Australia regularly.

There are no other changes to the manager research team at this time, according to a memo sent to staff by Kenaway.
