Morningstar Investment Management Hires Ex-MSCI Executive

Morningstar Investment Management Europe,
the investment advisory division of Morningstar, the fund performance and
research firm, has appointed former MSCI executive Simon Ewan as managing
director.

Ewan will lead operations, client
management, marketing, and business development for Morningstar’s investment
management and consulting operations in the UK,
Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He will
report to Daniel Needham, global chief investment officer for Morningstar
Investment Management.

Most recently, Ewan worked for MSCI in London, where he was
executive director, head of EMEAI asset owners and consultants. In addition, he
has held senior roles at ABN AMRO, SEI, Russell, and Countrywide, Morningstar
said in a statement.

Morningstar Investment Management had
approximately $176 billion in assets under advisement and management as of 30
September 2013.
