Manulife Makes Senior Hires In Asia

The firm said the leadership changes underscore its commitment to building a strong foundation for achieving high-quality, sustainable growth.
HManulife has made two leadership appointments to accelerate its Global High-Net-Worth (“GHNW”) business and strengthen its distribution across Asia.
Bonnie Qiu (main picture) will become CEO, global high-net-worth and chief partnership distribution officer, Asia, effective 1 December. In her expanded remit, Qiu - chief distribution officer for Asia - will provide strategic leadership for Asia segment’s HNW business, in particular managing life insurance solutions, to ensure that growth. She will also continue to lead partnership distribution across the region, including bancassurance, international brokerage, and digital channels.
As part of the transition, Qiu will collaborate with Jean Wong, who will be retiring in Q2 2026 as current CEO of GHNW after nearly three decades of distinguished service at Manulife.
In thanking Wong for her "exceptional leadership," the firm acknowledged her legacy. Wong played a pivotal role in the formation of GHNW in 2023 and leading Manulife’s successful entry into the Middle East market with the opening of its Dubai office. As a result, the GHNW business is now increasing growth for Manulife’s Asia operations.
As part of these changes, Rishi Srivastava (pictured below),
chief agency officer, Asia, has joined Manulife Asia’s senior
leadership team, with immediate effect. Srivastava has been
instrumental in advancing Manulife’s agency transformation
strategy, particularly training and development, quality
recruitment, and cultivating top-tier leaders and agents, while
championing new technologies to drive productivity and
efficiency.

Both Qiu and Srivastava will report to Steve Finch, president and CEO, Manulife Asia.
“These leadership changes underscore our commitment to building a strong foundation for achieving high-quality, sustainable growth,” Finch said. “Bonnie’s expanded role reflects Manulife’s ambition as we prepare for the next chapter of our GHNW business through more diversified and integrated distribution channels, coupled with an expanding regional footprint.
“Rishi’s appointment to the senior leadership team reinforces the critical role of our data-driven, professional agency force in driving accelerated growth. I am excited about the future and confident that these changes will position us for continued success,” he added.
