London-headquartered M&G Investments makes senior hire in Asia Pacific.

M&G Investments (M&G) announced yesterday that Yasotha Balakrishnan (pictured) has been appointed as head of risk, Asia-Pacific. Balakrishnan joins M&G and will be based in Singapore, reporting to Marius Botha, chief risk officer for M&G Investments, the firm said in a statement.

Balakrishnan brings more than 15 years of asset management experience in risk management, governance and compliance roles, with a track record spanning new product launches, market expansion and initiatives across complex, multi-jurisdictional environments. She joins from Analog Capital, where she was head of risk and compliance, having previously held a range of risk and compliance roles at Macquarie Group.

Balakrishnan’s appointment is the latest in a series of senior APAC hires, including those of Luke Chang as general manager and head of intermediary distribution, Taiwan; Cameron Sinclair as head of institutional distribution, Australia; and Ruth Poh as head of compliance, Asia-Pacific.
