KPMG Adds Hundreds Of Lawyers In Asia-Pacific
The arrival of the ZICO Law network into the KPMG group will bring more than 275 lawyers into KPMG's ranks across the region.
KPMG International announced yesterday that several law firms and teams from the ZICO Law network have joined its network of firms across Asia-Pacific.
More than 275 lawyers have joined over 2,900 legal professionals in the KPMG global organisation, creating a significant legal footprint.
“For the KPMG global organisation, the overall agreement with the firms in the ZICO Law network increases the total number of legal professionals to close to 3,200 across 84 jurisdictions, all working to help support clients as they navigate the increasing strategic and economic importance of the Asia-Pacific region,” Stuart Fuller, global head of legal services, KPMG International, said.
The agreement will be implemented in such a way that is consistent with meeting local legal and regulatory requirements, KPMG said in its statement.
In September KPMG announced its launch of Singapore's first “embedded finance hub," reflecting how financial services are increasingly being shaken up by technology. KPMG will manage the hub and its financial services experts will provide best practices and venture acceleration support to companies that want to enter the space. Their activity could involve working with them to co-create digital assets to drive developments for payments, gamification of finance, decentralised finance and platforms. Startups can also trial their embedded finance innovations at this hub, gaining feedback from hub ecosystem participants on how to get these commercialised.
