Judges Issue Shortlist For New Wealth Management Awards For North America
Judges have compiled a shortlist of potentially winning candidates for a new wealth management awards ceremony to be held in March this year in New York.
Judges for the Family Wealth Report Awards 2014, an event held to honour oustanding achievements in the North American industry, have drawn up shortlists for potential winners in over 30 categories. The awards will be unveiled on 13 March in New York.
The gala event – featuring high-profile guest speaker Christopher Kennedy Lawford – is at the lavish setting of the Metropolitan Club, One East Sixtieth Street in the city.
The shortlist of awards candidates have been chosen by a panel of judges drawn from the industry and in different types of business to ensure maximum objectivity and rigour, the organisers point out. The awards are being run by ClearView Financial Media, publisher of this news service.

Guest speaker
The guest speaker for the evening brings plenty of experience to
the limelight: Christopher Kennedy Lawford has spent much of his
life in Hollywood and Washington, navigating these two worlds as
an actor, writer, lawyer, activist and public speaker. For the
past five years he has worked with a number of partners in
private industry, the non-profit sector, state and federal
governments and patient advocacy groups to effect change and
raise awareness about public health issues.
Growing up the son of iconic Peter Lawford and Patricia Kennedy - along with the most famous Uncles one could possibly have: Pres. John F Kennedy, Sen. Robert Kennedy and Sen. Ted Kennedy, helped shape his formative years and gave him a sense of mission to help others. In his 2005 New York Times bestselling memoir, "Symptoms of Withdrawal" (William Morrow), he chronicled his deep descent into near-fatal drug and alcohol addiction, and his subsequent hard-won journey back to sobriety, which he has maintained for the past 26 years with the hopes of making a difference.
He is the author of several hard-hitting books covering themes of addiction and recovery, such as “Moments of Clarity: Voices From the Front Lines of Addiction and Recovery" (Harper Collins), “Recover to Live: Kick Any Habit, Manage Any Addiction" (Benbella); and “What Addicts Know,” (Benbella).
Lawford spent more than 15 years in the film and television business as an actor, lawyer, executive, and producer. He began his career in Universal Studios’ Independent Film Acquisitions where he was responsible for the acquisition of American Graffiti, one of the highest grossing films of the early 70’s. Lawford’s acting credits include Eavesdrop, Slipstream, The World’s Fastest Indian, Terminator 3, Blankman, The Doors and The Russia House.
Lawford is also a public advocacy consultant for Caron Treatment Centers.
