Japan's SMBC Names New APAC Co-Head, Managing Executive Officer
The appointed senior figure has served in a number of high-ranking roles since joining the group back in 1990.
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, which recently stepped up its business activities in India, yesterday said its new managing executive officer, and co-head for Asia-Pacific, is Katsufumi Uchida.
Uchida, is succeeding Yuichi Nishimura and joining Rajeev Kannan as managing executive officer and co-head for APAC.
Most recently, Uchida served as head of Asia business development division and deputy head of APAC division, as a managing executive officer of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group.
Uchida joined The Sumitomo Bank in 1990 which, through mergers. is now known as SMBC. He has more than three decades of experience serving within the bank’s global network across Asia and Europe, with a significant focus on structured finance and fostering growth in emerging markets.
