JP Morgan Confirms Departure Of North Asia HNW Market Manager

The US-listed banking group has confirmed the departure of a senior Asian private banker.

The market manager for the North Asia high net worth business at JP Morgan has left the firm, the US banking group confirmed.

Edward Lim, who held the post, had joined in June 2011. He previously worked as head of private banking, North Asia, for DBS, the Singapore-headquartered bank.

JP Morgan has not yet announced his replacement, a spokesperson told this publication in an email.

In February, one of the top figures at the private banking arm of JP Morgan, Peter Flavel, left the bank. He had been there for around five years. He left to take the helm of Coutts & Co and sister firm Adam & Co, part of Royal Bank of Scotland, in the UK.

Flavel joined JP Morgan in 2011 as the CEO for JP Morgan Private Wealth Management which focused on HNW business. In March 2015, the US bank decided to position its Asia business as one private bank serving two segments, ultra-high net worth and HNW. Due to operating in one brand, Flavel was named the Asia deputy CEO for JP Morgan Private Bank, reporting to Andrew Cohen, Asia CEO for JP Morgan Private Bank.
