JP Morgan's Private Bank Adds To India-Focused Team

JP Morgan's private bank has added to its team of India-focused bankers by appointing managing director Ravi Bulchandani and executive director Jafar Hamid.
Based in London, they report to Rahul Malhotra, head of the South Asia team.
“These hires highlight our commitment to serving our sophisticated Indian clients with the best capabilities and our team-based experts. Our goal is not to be the biggest, but the best private bank for our clients,” Malhotra said in a statement.
Bulchandani joins JP Morgan from Barclays Wealth (as that bank’s wealth and investment arm used to be known), where he was a senior private banker in the ultra high net worth team and also a member of its private client asset allocation committee. Prior to that, he held senior roles within the global market and currency research teams at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs in New York and London.
Hamid previously worked at Credit Suisse Private Bank, where he was a senior private banker and investment partner for ultra high net worth Indian clients. Before that, Hamid held a number of senior private banker roles at HSBC Private Bank, UBS Wealth Management and Citi Private Bank.
