JBWere Names New Zealand CEO

JBWere, the Australia and New Zealand wealth management firm, has appointed Tom Alexy as chief executive of New Zealand.

Alexy brings over 25 years of wealth management experience across American, European and Australasian markets and most recently served as director, head of Asia Pacific investment consulting at Credit Suisse. Prior to that, he worked with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

Tom Alexy assumes his new position in 16 January 2012 and will report directly to Paul Heath, CEO for Australia and New Zealand. The appointment complements JBWere's growth strategy for 2011 having hired Mark Joiner as chairman of the board from National Australia Bank in July. NAB bought Goldman Sachs' 80.1 per cent interest in JBWere's Australia and New Zealand operations in 2009 for $100 million.

JBWere currently has around A$30 billion ($30.6 billion) in funds under advice across the two countries.
