The banking group has launched its wealth management business in Hong Kong.

Investec Wealth & Investment, part of the UK/South Africa-based Investec group, has launched in Hong Kong, focusing on the local affluent Chinese and expatriate markets.

This publication is in contact with Investec about the staffing of the operation. A statement quoted Catherine Kirchmann, who has the post of divisional director and head of the Hong Kong business.

“Many of our clients in the UK and Europe, and in South Africa have been with us for over 20 years,” she said.

Around the world, Investec Wealth and Investment has £44.6 billion (around $65 billion) of assets under management.
