Hang Seng Bank Mourns Passing Of Senior Board Executive

A former independent non-executive director of Hang Seng Bank, Dr Marvin Cheung, has died.

A former independent non-executive director of Hang Seng Bank, Dr Marvin Cheung, has died, the bank said in a statement yesterday.

Dr Cheung served the bank for 10 years before resigning from the board in August this year. He had been a member of the audit committee since 2004 and chairman of the risk committee since it was created in 2012.

“Hang Seng is grateful to Dr Cheung for his wise counsel and dedication, particularly for his leadership as the inaugural chairman of the risk committee which played a significant role in shaping the board's oversight of the bank's internal control and risk management. Dr Cheung will be greatly missed,” the statement said.
