HSBC Private Bank Hires Senior Duo For Asia-Pacific

The private banking group has appointed two senior bankers, one from Standard Chartered and the other from Credit Suisse.

HSBC Private Bank has appointed Fan Cheuk Wan as managing director, head of investment strategy and Lionel Kwok as managing director, head of sales management for Asia-Pacific.

Cheuk Wan will be responsible for developing regional investment strategies and themes across all asset classes. In this expanded regional role, she will also oversee the advisory framework and the sales management process. Prior to joining HSBC, Cheuk Wan was managing director and chief investment officer at Credit Suisse Private Banking in Asia-Pacific.

“Fan Cheuk Wan brings a long history and deep understanding of the region to deliver compelling investment ideas to clients in Asia. We’re delighted to have her join our world-class advisory and investment services team,” Ivan Wong, regional head of investment services and product solutions, Asia Pacific at the bank, said in a statement.

In Kwok’s newly-created role, he will drive and coordinate the sales management process, and ensure it is in line with the bank’s global advisory programme. Prior to joining HSBC, he was head of investment advisory, North and South East Asia at Standard Chartered Private Bank.

Cheuk Wan and Kwok will be based in Hong Kong.
