The private banking arm of the global firm has named a regional head of sterling structured products and other segments in its Asia business.

HSBC Private Bank has appointed Abdel Ben Tkhayet as regional head of sterling structured products and fixed income, currencies and commodities, ISPS Asia. The appointment became effective at the start of January.

Tkhayet has almost 20 years of international investment experience, joining Hong Kong/London-listed HSBC in Paris in 1997. He has held roles including head of FX options trading France; regional head of structuring Middle East, based in Dubai; and global co-head of FX-IR hybrids trading, based in London. Prior to that, he worked at Societe Generale in Paris.

‎In this new role, Tkhayet will oversee foreign exchange, commodities, fixed income, money market and structured products, for sterling, in Asia.

Tkhayet will continue to be based in Hong Kong and report to Ivan Wong, regional head of investment services and product solutions, Asia-Pacific, at the private bank.
