HSBC's Private Bank Names North Asia Market Head
The appointee, who is taking up the role in August, has served in senior roles at UBS and Goldman Sachs, working with UHNW and other clients.
HSBC Global Private Banking has appointed Bryce Wan as market head for north Asia, taking effect from 12 August. He is based in Hong Kong and will report to Siew Meng Tan, regional head for the private bank in Asia-Pacific.
Wan is taking up a slot vacated when Ivan Wong, who was the interim market head, North Asia for HSBC Global Private Banking, left the bank earlier this year.
Wan's role will involve leading a team to support Asian clients worldwide and responsibility for driving growth and performance across North Asia markets, namely Hong Kong and offshore China and Taiwan, globally.
Before taking on this position, Wan served in leadership roles at UBS. Most recently, he was market team head of global family and institutional wealth for Hong Kong and China markets at that Swiss bank. He worked with ultra-high net worth clients and family offices, as well as privately held and listed companies in the region.
Wan also worked at UBS as head of global family office in Hong Kong, and country team head of UHNW business for China.
Prior to UBS, Wan spent 19 years at Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management where he was the MD and head of portfolio management group for Asia.
