HKMA Issues Another Alert About Fraudulent Bank Websites

Authorities in Hong Kong have warned the public about fraudulent websites purporting to be hosted by China CITIC Bank International Limited and Citibank (Hong Kong), continuing a series of such alerts in recent weeks and months.

Authorities in Hong Kong have warned the public about fraudulent websites purporting to be hosted by China CITIC Bank International Limited and Citibank (Hong Kong), continuing a series of such alerts in recent weeks and months.

“CNCBI and CBHK have clarified that they have no connection with the fraudulent website,” the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said in a statement.

The HKMA said any people who have given personal information to the website or has conducted any financial transactions through the website should contact CNCBI at 2287 6767 or CBHK at 2860 0333 and any local Police Station or the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.
