HKMA Beefs Up Its Risk, Compliance Expertise With Senior Hire

Hong Kong’s financial regulator has appointed an executive director in the risk and compliance area, a newly-created post as challenges this field grow.

Hong Kong’s financial regulator has appointed an executive director in the risk and compliance area, a newly-created post as challenges this field grow.

Grace Lau takes up her role at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority from today, the regulator said in a statement.

She is currently a division head responsible for the risk management and compliance function of the Exchange Fund’s investment activities and Lau joined the HKMA as manager in 1994 and was promoted to her present rank of division Head in 2000.

Before taking up her present role in 2007, Ms Lau had worked in various functional areas of the HKMA including monetary policy, economic and market research, market systems policy, banking development and securities enforcement.
