Global Professional Services Firm Adds To Asia Team, Opens Singapore Office

This publication brings latest news of appointments in the Asia-Pacific region.

Alvarez & Marsal, a global professional services firm, has made three senior hires in Asia and opened an office in Singapore.

The hires are State Shi in China, Myung Chul Kim in Korea and Paul Forgue in Hong Kong.

Shi has joined as managing director and head of A&M’s Asia tax practice. He has more than 12 years of experience in international taxation and business advisory assistance in Asia, the US and Australia. Prior to joining A&M, Shi spent more than 12 years with KPMG in China, Australia and the US as an M&A tax partner and lead tax partner of the Chinese technology, media and telecommunications sector team.

Kim will serve as MD and head of A&M’s Korea office. Kim has more than 20 years of experience working across Asia. Immediately prior to joining A&M, he spent four years in senior management roles with Hyundai Group.

Forgue re-joins the firm as an MD in Hong Kong. He has spent more than 20 years providing advisory services and also recently served as the chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Truett-Hurst, a California-based NASDAQ-listed winery.

A&M has also opened an office in Singapore’s Marina Bay Financial Centre, which will be overseen by Thomas Dillenseger, an A&M Asia veteran. It will serve Southeast Asia-based clients seeking operational advice in support of their businesses, as well as global companies with operations in the region.
