Global Investment Research Firm Names Senior Appointments For Asia-Pac

US investment research firm Morningstar reshuffles senior management ranks in Australasia, Asia-Pacific.
Morningstar, the US investment research firm, has named a new head for its Asia-Pacific research arm.
Anthony Serhan, currently the chief executive of Morningstar Australasia, has been appointed managing director of research strategy, Asia-Pacific for the global research group. He assumes his post in 1 April 2014.
Heather Brilliant, the current chief global director of equity and corporate credit research, and Mark Roomans, the present chief operating officer of Morningstar Europe, will become co-chief executive officers of Morningstar Australasia in Sydney. Brilliant and Roomans will manage the business together throughout 2014 and Brilliant will become the sole CEO in 2015.
In his new role as managing director of research strategy, Serhan will focus on research and analysis on Asia-Pacific securities markets, economic and financial trends, and investment themes. He also previously served as managing director of Ibbotson Associates Australia, a Morningstar firm.
The company established its business in Australia and New Zealand in 1999. Ibbotson, a part of its investment management group, provides asset allocation, manager selection and portfolio construction services to superannuation funds, institutions and financial planners.
