Generali Names Regional Head For Asia

The Europe-headquartered financial services group has named a regional head for Asia.

The former chief health and marketing officer for AXA in Hong Kong, Rob Leonardi, has been appointed chief executive of Italy-headquartered insurer and financial services group Generali.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Leonardi has been at Generali for about a month and is responsible for all Generali insurance activities in Asia. Other media outlets also reported on the move. This news service has contacted Generali to obtain further details.

Leonardi held the regional chief health and marketing officer role at AXA from May 2014 to January this year. Earlier, he worked as head of regional markets, Asia-Pacific, at Munich Re, from July 2008 to April 2014.

Generali’s activities span a number of areas, including life insurance – often an important part of the wealth management toolkit in regions such as Asia – and asset management.
