The newly-appointed figure has worked at Credit Suisse for more than a year and before that he was at UniCredit in different roles.
UBS has appointed senior Credit Suisse figure Mirko Bianchi as new group treasurer, this news service can confirm.
He will be taking up the post on 1 July, succeeding Beatriz “Bea” Martin Jimenez, the former UBS treasurer. She will head the wind-down unit to dispose of Credit Suisse assets for which UBS no longer has any use.
Bianchi, based in Zurich, has been a member of the board of directors and chairman of the audit committee at Credit Suisse for just over a year, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Bianchi was CEO of group wealth management and private banking at UniCredit Group, based in Milan and before that he was group CFO at UniCredit.
Martin Jimenez’s role is now head of non-core and legacy, president EMEA, group treasurer and UK chief executive.
