Fieldpoint Private Expands Westward With New Managing Director

The Connecticut-headquartered wealth advisory and private banking firm has boosted its team of client-facing advisors.

Fieldpoint Private has appointed Clay Skurdal as managing director and senior advisor, expanding its footprint beyond Greenwich, Connecticut and New York City.

Based in Eugene, Oregon, Skurdal previously worked at Great Northern Advisors, an independent affiliate of Liebenthal Wealth Advisors. Before that, he spent almost 30 years with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and its predecessor firms, including Smith Barney, Shearson Lehman and E.F. Hutton.

He brings a clientèle of ultra-high net worth families and entrepreneurs from California, Washington state and North Dakota.

“Clay’s experience and outstanding reputation will make him a valuable presence in parts of the country where we feel the Fieldpoint story will really resonate,” said Robert Matthews, Fieldpoint Private’s president and chief executive.

Earlier this week, Christopher DeLaura joined the firm's New York office as managing director and senior advisor.
