Edinburgh Partners Hires Former SWIP CIO

Edinburgh Partners, the Scottish wealth manager, has appointed Graham Wood – formerly chief investment officer at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership –  as an investment partner, Citywire reports.

Mr Wood, who left SWIP in September 2009, will play a lead role in portfolio construction alongside Stephen Anderson in his new position, according to the publication.

Mr Wood’s appointment sees him reunited with Sandy Nairn, now the chief executive of Edinburgh Partners, who, when he was chief investment officer of SWIP, recruited Mr Wood in 2001, the report said.

Mr Wood’s prior career also includes periods at Baillie Gifford and Standard Life Investments, where he was head of UK and Continental European equities.

Edinburgh Partners, which was founded by Mr Nairn in 2003, managed £6.7 billion (about $10 billion) in assets at end-2009.

Edinburgh Partners had not confirmed the appointment at the time of publication.
