Eastspring Investments, the asset management arm of Prudential Corporation Asia, has appointed former senior BlackRock manager Christian Fleischer as head of marketing.

Eastspring Investments, the asset management arm of Prudential Corporation Asia, has appointed former senior BlackRock manager Christian Fleischer as head of marketing. He will report to deputy chief executive of Eastspring Investments, Michele Bang.

Alvin Chiu was the previous head of Marketing.  He left in February 2014 to pursue other opportunities.

Fleischer, who is based in Singapore, will take on a role that has been expanded in scope, the firm said in a statement yesterday. He has over15 years of experience in marketing and brand communications, public relations and client servicing in financial services across Asia and Europe.

Most recently Fleischer worked in senior marketing roles at BlackRock in Europe. Prior to that role, he spent several years at ANZ and Deutsche Asset Management in Asia.

Eastspring has also appointed Tio Yang Phen as director, investment marketing. Tio previously worked at Aviva Investors Asia, where she was head of product management and strategy.  She reports to Fleischer.

The firm has offices in 14 markets (including sales and corporate offices in the US, UK and Luxembourg).  Total assets under management as at 30 June 2014 stood at about $115 billion, a rise of 22 per cent on the previous six months due to net inflows and positive market movements, it said.
