EY Names New Singapore, Brunei Country Managing Partner

The newly-appointed figure describes Singapore as a "global-Asia node of technology, innovation and enterprise."

EY, the global accountancy and consulting firm, has appointed Liew Nam Soon as the new country managing partner for Singapore and Brunei, effective 1 July this year. He will succeed Max Loh, who has been in the post since 2011.

Liew Nam Soon is the EY Asean regional managing partner – a role he has held since 2019 and will continue to retain in addition to his new appointment. As EY Asean regional managing partner, he is responsible for business performance and client service across assurance, consulting, tax, strategy and transactions in 14 geographic markets, and providing strategic leadership on operations, and market and people development across the region. Liew Nam Soon is also a member of the EY Asia-Pacific operating executive and the EY Global Practice Group.

In all, he has three decades of consulting and industry experience in retail, SMEs, corporate, investment and private banking, asset management, insurance, private equity and financial technology.

“As a global-Asia node of technology, innovation and enterprise, Singapore is a significant market for the EY organisation – not just in Asean but globally,” Liew Nam Soon said. “Developing our talent and leading-edge capabilities, upholding quality and trust in the profession, and driving a laser-sharp focus on clients are some of my priorities. Coming out of the pandemic, businesses will continue to face many more complex and inter-connected challenges, including sustainability, diversity, transformation and resilience – and I am excited to be leading our teams to help clients overcome these challenges and achieve long-term value.”
