EXCLUSIVE: US Private Bank Appoints Indonesia-Focused Senior Figure

This publication can exclusively report on a senior hire in the market for Indonesia.

Citi Private Bank has appointed Simon Kastono as global market manager for Indonesia, taking up the role from 2 April this year, this publication can reveal.

The US-headquartered firm confirmed that Kastono, who had been desk head for Indonesia at Bank of Singapore, had joined.

In his new position, Kastono reports to Jyrki Rauhio, South Asia head for Citi Private Bank, the bank said. He is based in Singapore.

In March last year, Kastono, who had been MD and market leader of Indonesia at Credit Suisse, left that bank. In 2015 Kastono was promoted to sector co-head of Indonesia, at the time working alongside Torsten Linke.

Among other major recent hires, Citigroup last October appointed Steven Lo as regional head of the private bank in Asia-Pacific, following the announcement of Bassam Salem’s retirement. (To see a senior Asutralia-focused move at the firm, see here.)
