EXCLUSIVE: Senior Philippines Specialist Departs From Swiss Bank In Asia

A specialist in the Philippines market has left a large Swiss bank in Asia, this publication has learned.
One of the senior bankers, Mark Chester Ng, who had joined Julius Baer in Asia when the bank acquired Merrill Lynch’s international wealth management arm over a year ago, has resigned from the Swiss-headquartered firm, this publication understands.
His future career plans are not known at this stage. Julius Baer, when contacted, declined to comment on the matter.
Ng, based in Singapore, covers the Philippines market and held the title of executive director. It is understood that another team member who worked with him has also left the firm.
As reported a few weeks ago, Julius Baer appointed Nigel Sze as market head of Hong Kong and China. Based in Hong Kong, Sze reports to Wilson So, head of greater China.
