EFG Names New Asia-Pacific Advisory Board Chair

One of the most prominent figures in Asian banking is appointed to the role after her predecessor stepped down.
EFG International and EFG Bank has appointed Amy Yip, a prominent former banking executive in Hong Kong, as the new chair of the Asia-Pacific advisory board, with immediate effect. Yip succeeds Fong Seng Tee, who announced his decision to step down as chair at the bank’s 2019 annual meeting.
In her new role, Yip will aim to expand EFG’s business in Asia, working alongside the board of directors, the Asia-Pacific executive chairman, Albert Chiu, and his regional management team.
Yip has more than 40 years' experience in various leadership and managerial roles for global players in the region. She is a member of the board of directors of Fidelity International, Deutsche Boerse, Temenos and American International Group. Since 2011, Yip has also been a founding partner of RAYS Capital Partners, an investment management company specialising in Asian capital markets. She previously worked at DBS Bank in Hong Kong, where she served as chief executive from 2006 to 2010. Before joining DBS Bank - between 1996 and 2006 - Yip had various senior roles at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. She began her career in 1975 at American Express in Hong Kong, and has also worked at JP Morgan, Citibank and Rothschild Asset Management.
