EFG In Hong Kong Appoints Head Of Investments

EFG, the Switzerland-headquartered wealth management firm, has named a head of investments, recruiting from a European rival.

A former head of discretionary multi-asset class portfolios at the wealth management arm of BNP Paribas, Jaye Chiu, has joined EFG as head of investments for Hong Kong, this publication can confirm.

Chiu joined the Switzerland-headquartered bank in December and is responsible for investment solution services provided to client relationship officers in North Asia, a spokesperson for EFG said in an email.

At BNP Paribas, Chiu managed a team in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Back in August, this publication exclusively reported that EFG Bank's Singapore business appointed senior banker Ana Isabel Gonzalez Encinas. Encinas was appointed as an executive director and works with European and Latin American colleagues to cover these markets from Singapore for EFG.

Among other hires earlier this year were those of Amrit Uppal from Barclays’ wealth and investment management arm, to lead its non-resident India business, and Rupinder Sehmi and Jagjit Matharu, also formerly of Barclays.
