Duncan Lawrie Private Bank Bolsters Board With Industry Veteran

UK-based
Duncan Lawrie Private Bank has added Richard Wastcoat to its board as non-executive director with immediate effect.

Wastcoat has worked in the UK fund management industry for nearly three decades. He was at Fidelity for 25 years and rose to the position of chief executive of the firm’s UK mutual fund business. He then worked with FundsNetwork, the firm's fund supermarket, until retiring from the company in 2008.

His other roles at Fidelity include overseeing the firm’s businesses in Spain, the Nordic Region, the Middle East and Africa, and India. He also spent seven years in Hong Kong.

Since retiring from Fidelity, he has been a member of the board of the Investment Management Association and he currently serves on the board of the Financial Skills Partnership and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. In 2011, he was appointed as the first non-executive director of First State Investments.

In his new role, he is hoping to contribute with insight in investment management as well as helping to develop Duncan Lawrie’s corporate strategy as the private bank is looking to expand.
