The latest news about technology products and services relevant for wealth managers around the world.

Tencent, National University of Singapore

China’s technology giant Tencent has signed a pact with the National University of Singapore to help incubate companies in Singapore through the services of Tencent Cloud.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by Flying Wu, general manager, international business group from Tencent and Professor Freddy Boey, deputy president (innovation and enterprise) from NUS, officially marks the start of the collaboration between the two parties for a period of three years.

The MoU covers areas such as Tencent Cloud services and technology for start-ups. Within the first year of the MoU period, up to 20 NUS start-ups will be mutually selected by Tencent and NUS to use Tencent Cloud services. These NUS startups will receive technical support, solution, online and offline training with respect to Tencent Cloud products.

Tencent will support the selected NUS start-ups with marketing efforts, and selected companies will also be featured as speakers in events organised by Tencent. It will also give NUS start-ups access to its artificial intelligence laboratory.
